Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The events that led to the signing of the alliance between the Athenians, Argivi, Mantineesi and Elei in 420 not only constitute an effective example of an episode of Athenian manipulation conducted in the institutional setting, but also allow us to propose some reflections on the Spartans' tropos and on the perception that he had it in Athens.
