Abstract
This article sets out procedures and results of a language teaching experience carried out with university Italian students of Spanish as a foreign language (C1 level, European Framework). The aim was to perfect discourse competence, both oral and written, by applying different text analysis, text production and inter- and intralinguistic translation techniques to frequent text genres of different professional areas. The theoretic frameworks were cooperative learning and global simulation in order to accustom learners to approach the text as a Spanish foreign language professional would do in a working context, turning the university foreign language learning experience in a link between the academic and the professional world.
