Abstract

The correspondence, both human and spiritual, between the biographies of Libero Spartaco Andreotti (1875-1933) and Aldo Carpi (1886-1973), whose sister Margherita the sculptor married, is amply documented by a dense web of correspondence, some of which has already been published, marking the most significant junctions in the production of the two artists, whose assiduous frequentation dates back to the 1920s. The archival investigation, conducted among the documentary deposits in Rome, Milan and Pescia (Pt), has made it possible to unearth previously unpublished traces of the sculptor’s production, as well as to trace the destination of some works, replicated and disseminated post mortem, due to Aldo Carpi’s interest, in order to provide for the daily needs of his family, who had been orphaned prematurely.
