Abstract

Many significant dates mark the relationship between Benvenuto Griziotti and Ezio\r\nVanoni: their re-enactment allow a parallel enucleation of scientific questions\r\ninherent in the link between the two scholars and detectable both in the primary literature, both through the contribution of direct witnesses.\r\nFirst we will briefly observe Vanoni's scientific path, path under the careful and participatory guidance of Griziotti until his active participation in political life. \r\nWe will dwell therefore on some specific moments of this lasting scientific relationship\r\nto highlight certain characteristics. Finally we will try to underline\r\nsome common underlying denominators of the approach of two\r\nscholars who, despite having ultimately held different roles, shared\r\nthe idea of always starting from the concrete reality to try, with realism, to improve it.
