Abstract

Many significant dates mark the relationship between Benvenuto Griziotti and Ezio Vanoni: their re-enactment allow a parallel enucleation of scientific questions inherent in the link between the two scholars and detectable both in the primary literature, both through the contribution of direct witnesses. First we will briefly observe Vanoni's scientific path, path under the careful and participatory guidance of Griziotti until his active participation in political life. We will dwell therefore on some specific moments of this lasting scientific relationship to highlight certain characteristics. Finally we will try to underline some common underlying denominators of the approach of two scholars who, despite having ultimately held different roles, shared the idea of always starting from the concrete reality to try, with realism, to improve it.
