Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The work is aimed at describing the model of economic, and above all environmental, development of the city of Brescia, albeit in brief and only in depth in certain areas. The Lioness of Italy is mainly known, nationally and internationally, for her industrial vocation and the industriousness of her inhabitants. Without a shadow of a doubt, nobody would dream of counting it among the most active in the environmental sustainability sector, above all because it is often mentioned in the media for its poor air quality and, in particular recently, for its presence on municipal soil (and not only) of a 'polluted site of national interest'. However, beyond the two emergencies mentioned above - the responsibility of which we would feel to attribute only in part to the municipal administration - if we look at different environmental indicators we can see how in recent years the Municipality has been trying to actively intervene in improving quality environmental protection of your city. In our opinion, another peculiar element of the Brescia experience is represented by the fact that, in the city, the greater attention paid in recent years to the environment is not leading to the abandonment of the objective of economic growth, a sort of reversal implying the renunciation of the economic-industrial development of the city; on the contrary, the two paths seem to converge.
