Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Using data from the fifth round of the European Social Survey, we examine how the context variables contribute, together with the individual characteristics, to explaining the formation of attitudes towards legality. The results show that the most educated individuals who reside in countries characterized by a lower level of corruption show relatively more tolerant attitudes towards illegality and require less severe penalties for the crimes committed.
