Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The classic model of punishing, based on the concept of retribution, it reveals itself as the tip of the iceberg of a criteriology of acting well broader than just the legal sphere - The just is the one who remains faithful to good even in the face of evil and problematic situations. That is: the just is not a retributor, but in certain way, still, a liberator. - Restorative justice itself offers for the first time the victim has the opportunity to tell the truth, in terms relationships, on the crime and to see the unacceptability of a given behavior recognised. - In reality, it is not the cross that saves, but the love brought to the cross: that is, the fidelity to goodness witnessed by Jesus even in the face of hatred and abandonment. - Pope Francis points to a commitment to charity and responsibility towards the divine work of creation, consisting in the need for commitment to cultivate new frontiers of justice, which open up to universal brotherhood.
