Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] This work delves into the relationships between the two fields of study of art and accounting which, apparently distant from each other, are surrounded by deep and intimate ties on different levels. The link between art and accounting can be traced both at the level of origin, nature, technical foundation, and at the level of functional relationship and support carried out by one (accounting) on the other (art). The goal is to investigate, in a historical key and by adopting an economic-corporate perspective, the complex and varied relationship between composer (artist), publisher (cultural intermediary) and impresario / theater, in the specific context of opera, in order to to outline the evolution and intertwining of artistic and economic-financial aspects. A prerequisite for the research is the fact that the opera has represented an important phenomenon both in the artistic and social spheres in 19th-century Italy, carrying out a fundamental intermediary function between society and the political world. Embracing the period 1839-1893, the studio focuses on the system of relationships and relationships between the artist Giuseppe Verdi, the Ricordi publishing house and the La Scala theater in Milan; in particular, the commercial and private relationships between the Memories and the Maestro represent a cross-section of the transformations that took place during the nineteenth century in the opera activity in general and in the conception of an author's work in particular, or in the cultural industry model . The work highlights just how these relationships contributed to the evolution of relations between the artist, publisher and impresario / theater in the nineteenth century.
