Abstract
Italy is a wonderful country, on one side extraordinary but able to cause deep disappointments.
We Italians can reach high levels of excellence proved by our many Nobel prices (we are eighth in the World for number of prices), by our capability to be part of the Global Market with small business companies and by our artistic skills well expressed in music, theatre and fashion.
Indeed, at the same time we face with anxiety all the problems still around us: organized crime, corruption, moral decay, unemployment, pollution, etc.
Our incapability to be an ordinary Country is well seen inside the school system, observing the high variability of goals reached and the wide difference between all the existing educational models. In fact, many different educational and didactics situations can be seen together inside the same school or institute. For example, there are classrooms where students live their learning experience with enough sense of well-being and others where apathy among teacher and students is a primary management attitude. And again, there are groups of students able to reach more positive and higher educational goals compared to the national average and groups where due to the school failure a negative constant pushes them away from every national parameter.
