Translated title of the contribution: [Autom. eng. transl.] Young talents who leave Italy: sources, data and policies of a complex phenomenon

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Using data from various sources, this contribution shows how the generational question is particularly accentuated in Italy from various points of view. The areas considered refer, in particular, to the size and composition of public spending, to educational returns, to the phenomenon of brain drain, to labor market conditions and to access to political offices. Furthermore, a summary indicator is proposed which takes into account both the demographic imbalances and the possibility of influencing the political processes of a country and, thanks to this indicator, shows a positive relationship between degeneration and the level of corruption in a country.
