Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In studies on eighteenth-century theater in Italy, alongside the great construction sites of national critical editions (think of the editions of Carlo Goldoni, Carlo Gozzi, or even Pietro Metastasio) and the insights into individual playwrights and specific areas and cultures of representation , we note the volume by Gianni Cicali, Teatro ed heresia nel Settecento italiano, which investigates some karst paths of writing for the
scene in the eighteenth century. The common thread that unites the different geographical contexts and the different writing practices explored in the volume is the heresy that connotes and unites the profile of the playwrights considered, both in the Florentine area and on the Neapolitan scenes, and finally in the multiform geographical paths of the texts of the Olivetan monk Francesco Ringhieri, between commercial circuits and private spaces.
