Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The political and cultural climate of the mid-seventies of the nineteenth century makes it possible to establish municipalizations also in terms of economic theory. That liberalism, which had had its tenacious advisor in F. Ferrara, which advocates in the economic field a full freedom without harmful protections or constraints on the market and which much less admits an "entrepreneurial" state, clashes with theoretical and practical interventionist tendencies and with the growing favor both of entrepreneurs and politicians towards a wider state intervention in economic matters
