Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Also in the light of unpublished documents, the relations between Giovanni Gentile and Agostino Gemelli, founder and rector of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan, are outlined, bringing out how the ideological and cultural reasons of a strong controversy and a radical conflict often have left room for opportunities for collaboration and mutual solidarity, against the background of feelings of suffering friendship.
