Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Maintaining a good relationship between father and son when the father is in prison is, although difficult, extremely important for the well-being of fathers, children and the family. In this chapter a Path of Family Enrichment called "Being Fathers" was described, carried out in July 2014 at the District Prison of Milan - Bollate. This intervention helped the detained fathers to rethink themselves as parents in an exceptional phase of forced detachment and to assume those aspects that characterize their identity, to maintain mentally a bond with their child, and therefore to favor their relationship even at a distance, and to overcome the discomfort caused by sudden separation.
