Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The new generations are accompanied to adult life by those that precede them and that give them the patrimony of values, norms and knowledge negotiated in the intergenerational exchange. On this heritage every innovative or conservative action is founded or, with respect to it, distancing can occur, sometimes conscious of others, but still full of meanings. Especially starting from adolescence, values acquire particular salience: adolescents tend to translate into action many of the tensions that animate them and, as is known, they are greatly affected by the influences of the models (parents, peers, media) that are theirs around. Socialization to the value dimensions is realized within and among the social groups in which one participates, in a wide context in which different sources of influence interact, synergizing or competing with one another. It so happens that the boys find themselves in a context that, in terms of their values and importance ascribed to them, is multi-faceted and complex. All this requires integration and management efforts, generating a delicate balance between impulses and hesitations.
