Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Today, young people experience a marked employment precariousness and the difficulty in defining their identity and professional affiliation. Pedagogy therefore has to reflect analytically on intergenerational responsibility. With reference to the relationships between the different generations, the dynamism and the change in the labor market, combined with a progressive aging of the population and the effects of the economic recession, have hit the youth category hard and contributed to a redefinition of the generational equilibrium and of the 'allocation of resources while raising questions on the strong disparities in the management of welfare between the different ages of life (Istat). A phenomenon that highlights the current generational imbalances is represented by changes or generational copresences within companies that, if badly managed and not prepared in time, can cause the loss of a high number of jobs (due to the closure of the company that does not survive the owner's move) and transform precious professional opportunities for the new generations into a slow and inexorable decline of the company. In this direction the young person, in order to successfully undertake his professional career, needs to measure himself with concrete work experiences that offer him the possibility of putting to the test what he has learned in the school career. The new law reforming the national education and training system n. 107/2015 which in article 1 (from paragraph 33 to paragraph 44) introduces and regulates the obligation to alternate school work to be carried out for all students in the last three-year second-level secondary schools with the aim of orienting and supporting a conscious entry of these into work contexts through the acquisition of skills that can be spent in the labor market. It implies a different school model than the one traditionally founded mainly on theoretical knowledge because it promotes a school vision that opens in a fruitful way to the territory and to the subjects that live there with the aim of creating a real educational alliance. The transformations in progress call for pedagogical reflection to question the quality of contexts such as school and work which, in various ways, contribute to enriching the subject's skills throughout the entire existence with the aim of offering a precious contribution in reference to the implementation of the alternation.
