Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The research proposed in this volume, which saw the involvement of 36 schools spread across the national territory and about 6000 students, was aimed at bringing to light the resources and abilities of adolescents, an innovative aspect if we consider that the adult world tends to look at adolescents in terms of fatigue. Difficult, of course, in a society accustomed to filling what is lacking rather than supporting what is already there .. One of the most striking results among the many obtained is the perception that adolescents report high levels of empathy and care for others. The media has by now become accustomed to the image of bullying adolescents: why then do they perceive themselves so different from this image that we have of them? From the data emerges a greater propensity of girls for the value to the care of others and for the acquisition of a normative register in everyday life compared to the male peers who perceive themselves instead more competent in the different areas of daily life, show greater confidence in themselves and in their own capabilities. The data on geographical macro-areas are of great interest: the adolescents of the South show the 'most positive' growth profile especially compared to the boys of the North. This data certainly deserves further study in order to verify which social and cultural variables determine these results. These adolescents are not only fragile, seated, bold, addicted, sought after, but eager to face the challenges that await them. And will adults be able to accompany them in these challenges?
