Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] We are many, we live better and longer. But the whirlwind economic growth of the last century is now colliding with its contradictions - climate change, migration, demographic imbalances, inequalities - threatening the very life of the planet and urgently posing the problem of sustainability. However, the answer cannot be just technoeconomic: rather, it is necessary to question the premises on which growth is based, bridging a cultural gap in the awareness that there is no living form that is not in relation. Science says it and religions have always said it: only in relationship with others do we become ourselves and exercise true freedom, in a transitive and generative way and not in an extractive and predatory way. This is the logic that governs human life, personal and collective, and which can reopen the path towards a free, just and sustainable society.
