Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay shows the conspicuous debts contracted by Galileo against the Italian poetic tradition, in particular Dante and Ariosto, at a time when the new science, unable to provide clear proof of its veracity, must resort to the emotional and persuasive potential of the literary word .
