Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In the second half of the 20th century, the United States was engaged in the most ambitious of operations: construction
of a liberal world order. For the past decade, however, this world order has been threateningly tottering, undermined on the one hand by the war on terror and the invasion of Iraq and on the other by the explosion of the financial crisis.
G. John Ikenberry, in this book, explains why America today is forced, in order not to succumb, to rethink and renegotiate its relations with the rest of the world and to pursue a broader strategy: that of the liberal Leviathan.
