Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Although no longer well known, in the perspective of the current horizon of studies, Abbot Fulgenzio Ferrari was an authoritative and influential member within the Cassino congregation in the last part of the sixteenth century. His relationships with some important characters of the literary scene of his time (Stefano Guazzo, Angelo Grillo, Felice Passero and others) are reconstructed here, as well as with numerous figures from the political world, such as for example several members of the Farnese house. Ferrari's activity in the artistic field is also taken into consideration, carried out above all as a client for the Piacenza abbey of S. Sisto.
