Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Does foster care with a biological brother help the child experience the complexity of a double family reference or does it make it more difficult to enter the foster family? And how do children who are in foster care with two different families see the fraternal bond? The volume presents the first Italian qualitative research on the joint and disjoined foster care of brothers, which shows how the brothers in joint custody are in general more capable of living fully the experience of relationship with the foster family, including the new 'brothers', children of carers. The text is directed both to those who deal with foster care at the theoretical level of research, and to psychosocial and legal operators, called to design the methods of assignment, as well as to students who, in the course of their studies, face the issue of family fostering.
