Abstract
The one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the Italian unity could be the occasion for a talk about Italian society, the one that during the decades after 1861 has laboriously but truly been built by the ruling class. Many subjects contribuited to this historical process. This article aims to demonstrate that the school was one of this subject. It helped to build a new kind of Italian.
