Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The "Book of Dignities and Excellenties of the Order of the Seraphic Mother of the Poor Women Sancta Clara da Assisi" of the Observant Minor Mariano da Firenze (1519), through the life and visions of Blessed Elena Enselmini from Padua, intends to provide an interpretation of the history of Clarisse who essentially supports the papacy's lines of action against the aforementioned Order. We then understand the central role in these visions of Gregory IX, represented almost as a co-founder of the Order and author of the rule, in 1263 perfected by Urban IV.
