Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume presents a broad and detailed analysis of a miscellaneous preserved at the Municipal Library of Trento and of the 25 editions of the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries preserved in it. While moving from a bibliographic approach, bibliological studies converge with textual and iconographic studies on the common ground of the history of the book. The miscellany is a collection of 25 very rare popular Renaissance prints, some twenty of which are not otherwise known, of a profane subject: narratives in the eighth rhyme on contemporary war events, mythological-legendary themes (including a previously unknown sing of Trojan matter), astrological literature.
