Forme di sociabilità nella Milano dei "lumi": la Società del Giardino e i primi due regolamenti (1783-1803)

The Garden Society is the oldest club in the city of Milan, opened in 1783 by Francesco Bolchini and some other members of the city's civil class, interested in new and direct forms of encounter. In those troubled times full of news, sudden political changes and social upheavals, the Garden knew how to give rise to methods and forms of corporate organization capable of interpreting those elements of dynamism and development, and thus providing a model of civil sociability capable of corresponding to modern forms of relationship, commitment and leisure. In the early years there was significant development, and Carlo Porta, the singer of Milan between the 18th and 19th centuries, is remembered several times in his poems.
