Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] There are natural or anthropic attractions which, due to their spectacular nature, do not need a narrative to become a tourist destination. Others, however, acquire interest and notoriety only after a narrative, rediscovered even after centuries of oblivion, has made them extraordinarily well known, even beyond their objective intrinsic value. Examples are the places of liminal tourism, described, even in remote times, by explorers or travellers, destinations made famous by tourist guides or articles in specialized magazines, film or television drama sets, literary parks. The article examines which narrative tools contribute most to the tourist promotion of a place even to the point of determining unsustainable phenomena of over tourism
