Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The education-migration relationship is a key issue for the analysis of the integration of immigrants in the host societies: studies and research agree in considering training a resource for the integration of young foreigners, even if they differ in the analyzed areas and the different ways of understanding these processes. In Italy, much attention has been paid to the education system, the less the initial vocational training has been investigated, although it is attended by about 150 thousand young people, 15% of whom are foreigners. The volume deals with adolescents with non-Italian citizenship inserted in this channel and analyzes the integrative process from the point of view of the students and the educational offer, through a qualitative-quantitative survey, carried out in the Province of Turin, which focuses on some crucial questions of the integration of foreign users, offering indications for the governance of training processes both for the actors involved (operators, families, students) and for policy makers. From the research emerges a reality that is configured as a laboratory of inter-ethnic coexistence and citizenship, a context in which chance is built also for young people with discontinuous and problematic biographies. The presence of foreigners constitutes an added value for professional training, urged to act as a qualified interlocutor for the education system, to which it can bring a wealth of experience, teaching styles, and practices of collaboration with the world of work.
