Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution qualitatively examines some proposals to form smart cities and smart communites of contexts recognized for their excellence as European Green Capitals. Without claiming to be exhaustive, by choosing examples aimed at the younger generations and communities, in their formal and informal urban places of belonging, people go so far as to believe in the possibility of educating for the future and for sustainability. The selection criteria of the proposals took into consideration the plurality of training possibilities, from awareness raising to teaching, from information campaigns to the development of skills; the multiple voice of the subjects who can devise educational, educational and cultural paths, from childcare institutions to companies, from foundations to universities; the systemic complexity of environmental issues, from mobility to food, from health to the economy; the multiple forms of contribution to sustainability, from financial support to research, from politics to participation. Good educational practices reveal how crucial it is to act in a multi-stakeholder logic, promoting integration between skills, knowledge, personal, organizational and community, expanding also the boundaries of connections: transactional networks, between capitals and between geographically dislocated organizations. The exchange of good practices, facilitated by technological communication networks, it could lead to accelerating the spread of skills and knowledge in society. Interdisciplinarity in concepts and practices, an international outlook, orientation towards economic, social and environmental sustainability are guiding axes from which innovative training proposals can be made.
