Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Planning competence is one of the central points that qualify the professional profile of pedagogists and training experts; for this reason it is included in most university training courses aimed at these professionals. Learning to design, similarly to what happens with other methodological skills, requires practicing and applying what has been acquired in real life contexts. Training therefore maximizes its effectiveness when, in addition to providing an epistemological, methodology and technical framework, students are offered the opportunity to mobilize these skills by experimenting with them within real projects. This training strategy is fully included among the active ones, aimed at placing the student and his learning processes at the centre. Furthermore, such a training experience strongly contributes to increasing students' transversal skills, namely the ability to communicate and collaborate with others, leadership, goal planning and time management. As is known, however, the possibility of having students put to the test seems to clash with organizational issues connected with the normal management of university teaching which takes place within predefined spaces and times and which must respect a series of constraints linked to the peculiarities of the degree course within which it is inserted (three-year or master's degree), the duration (semi-annual or annual) and the methods of organization of the course (in person, distance learning, blended), the number of students, etc. The teacher's space for action is therefore often limited and occurs within a rather rigid system. The aim of the contribution is to present and critically discuss the training system of the six-month course "Designing and evaluating in Media Education" included within the Master's Degree Course in Media Education (blended) at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. To present and problematize the choices made within the specific constraints and opportunities of the reference context, the point of view of the students who have followed the course in recent years will also be valorised, collected through structured (reflective track) and unstructured tools (questionnaires).
