Abstract

Post-modern society is characterized by sudden changes, especially with regard to evolution of job skills required. It highlights that an adult who loses his job needs vocational guidance and professional training to find his own new path among those available. The job loss has influence on the person and on the whole society. Certainly, the problem involves the research of a new place, but, above all, the worker has to rebuild and focus upon his meaning of life always linked to the development of human capital and productive system. This essay describes a pilot project aimed to foster and retrain adults "over 40", conducted by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. The experience has allowed to validate the field training facility designed, to infer methodologies transferable to other contexts and to make some considerations about the relationship between education and change.
