Abstract
Research has been a core competence in doctoral training from the beginning. In recent years, however, the global transformation of the world of work and the consequent Higher Education revolution have given rise to a significant rethinking of these paths. PhD student heuristic habitus acquisition remains an unavoidable and foundational element but the heterogeneity of the outgoing professional profiles (professional researchers or researching professionals) leads us to reflect on research training. Research method skills, in particular, will occupy a very diversified space according to the employment outcomes.
This contribution presents the results of an empirical survey on research training practices in Italian doctorates focusing on the area of pedagogy
