Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] To offer today an "anthropological foundation of mysticism", and not simply mysticism in general, but the Christian one in a strict sense, means presenting to contemporary man a fact as simple as it is disconcerting: the mystical experience is "normal in its exceptionality" . Normal, because it is possible for every man who passes by grace to the life of faith from natural religiosity; exceptional because, although for the faithful the purpose of law is the beatific vision of God, the mystical experience is doubly a free gift which is added to the gift of faith, but which is not necessarily required by it. God does it to those who want for the good of all. This structure allows the philosopher to forcefully re-propose the value of the relationship between the metaphysics of creation and anthropology (recognition relationship as rational, free and trustful, infinite openness to being, etc.), inviting us to consider the reasonableness of anthropology that thinks the totality of the person as irreducible to others / Other (sociologistically or pantheistically) and as an unfinished being destined for fulfillment by free consent and by the hands of others / Other.
