Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay traces and illustrates the relations between Antonio Fogazzaro and Carl Muth, the editor-in-chief of «Hochland», the Munich Catholic culture magazine that published Il Santo in German translation starting from January 1906 in the early twentieth century. Thanks to the rich unpublished documentation offered by the correspondence Muth-Fogazzaro, forthcoming (2010) in the Quaderni of the Olympic Academy of Vicenza (Quaderno 22: Fogazzaro Series, directed by Fabio Finotti, vol. X), this contribution sheds light on some aspects perhaps little known of the diffusion of the two last novels of the writer from Vicenza on German soil, deepening at the same time the knowledge of contacts and relations between Italian and German modernism.
