Abstract
In the knowledge society the requirement of skills both technical and 'soft' are becoming more and more important to achieve the labour market demand. The paper explores the local labour market in the province of Brescia and then, after the description of the theorical framework on the mismatch and its consequences, it illustrates the forms and the intensity of educational and skill mismatch in this province through the analysis of the results of a survey carried out in 2011 in specific economic sectors.
