Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume collects 13 essays by various specialists linked by the common thread of the interaction between philological studies and society from the Alexandrian era to the early years of the century. XX, between East and West. These are significant episodes of a path of uninterrupted cultural continuity: Alexandrian and Roman philology, that of patristic and medieval times are examined; ample space is dedicated to experiences of the modern and contemporary age.
