Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Through the analysis of four recent documentary films - In the eyes with Giovanna Mezzogiorno (2009), In the factory by Francesca Comencini (2009), Fugues and landings by Giovanna Taviani (2010), Portrait of my father by Maria Sole Tognazzi (2010) - the essay examines the different procedures of recovery of the paternal image, elaborated by some art daughters. Going beyond what is conserved in the collective imagination of cinema, an intense introspective search arises that invariably includes an act of recognition of the parent, but which necessarily leads to an awareness of itself as a woman.
