Abstract

Emotions and feelings are deeply involved in education, healthcare and social work. Helpers' training and continuing education must develop emotional skills and refine existential awareness, in order to understand and take care not only of people's needs, but also their existential dimension. This essay explores emotional life from a phenomenological perspective, showing its basic importance in the processes of perceiving, thinking, willing and behaving.
