Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The two-volume catalog, created on the occasion of the exhibition held at the Marciana National Library in Venice (May-September 2002), is the result of in-depth studies on Hermes Trismegistus and the vast influence he exercised in the centuries following his death, when the his writings were translated and interpreted, inspiring philosophers, religious, doctors and magicians. The second volume contains a guide to the books on display, with technical data sheets (including this one) and explanations on their philosophical and intellectual value. Among the exhibits, 34 manuscripts and 72 printed works, most of them from the Marciana National Library in Venice and the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica in Amsterdam.
