Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume presents the genesis and development of the missionary movement in Bergamo from the beginning of the twentieth century until the threshold of Vatican Council II. Particular attention is paid to the theological and ecclesiological framework, within which the birth and growth of the missionary office in Bergamo is traced. Several essays then deepen the female missionary presence in Latin America, Africa and Asia, with particular attention to Brazil, Argentina, Eritrea, India and China.
