Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Through action we can help direct the outcome of our behavior. This competence, defined as agency (or agency), is the basis of the faculty to make things happen and to intervene on reality. The theme of personal self-efficacy today rediscovers new frontiers of analysis, in light of the contribution offered by cognitive neuroscience. Individuals are thus defined as active agents and not merely spectators of organized brain mechanisms and induced by external events. How does the relationship between thought, will and action work? This volume explores the world of self-efficacy and the neurocognitive mechanisms that make subjective representation of the self as an agent possible.
