Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The topic of assisted procreation, which is very timely today, involves the person as a whole and implies significant value, cultural, relational, adaptation, differentiation and impact on society. It is the same concept of family that is challenged, when biological and social parenting are split up through the use of reproductive techniques. In this way, undoubted changes within the family originate, in the multiplication of parental roles and, consequently, in the relational dynamics between its members, and outside the family, in the social dynamics that distinguish generativity and consideration which the company as a whole has of it. The dilemma between a 'generative' family conception and a 'reproductive' family conception is re-proposed as an unavoidable node, of a value and ethical type, in assisted procreation technologies. Contemporary society and its scientific apparatuses of reflection, eluding the relational dimension of procreation and sterility, struggle to solve this problem and tend to simplify it, of a technical nature, which can almost automatically lead to its resolution. The present volume gives an account of the ethical, relational, biological, psychological and sociological depth of the dilemma: in particular, the first part reconstructs the reference framework of the phenomenon of assisted fertilization according to a multidisciplinary perspective, the second offers indications coming from the research that allow an empirical contextualization within family dynamics and Italian society
