abstract = "The chapter aims to analyze the work-family relationship in the light of the major family transitions – considered as critical moments of family life triggered by the acquisition or release of members, or related to changes in the role of familiar subjects (eg adulthood). Every family in its lifecycle passes infact through a succession of different phases, each characterized by specific developmental tasks, which involve a continuous reworking of couple relationships, parent-child relations and relationships with the family of origin. We will then consider the family transitions, as transitions of the family subject, observing the family as a relational set with its own symbolic-communicative code.",
