Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In today's social work, projects of collective value are spreading more and more, be they group or community. Municipalities, consortium companies, mountain communities, but above all Regions and banking foundations in fact try to promote collective actions by financing various actors so that they network to face common problems, to prevent widespread inconvenience or to accompany major social changes in the territories. Sometimes, in this way, social workers find themselves promoting community social work without having specific training: they facilitate actions that involve several citizens or families, without implementing the necessary precautions for processes of this type. Other times spontaneous actions arise in the territory through the free initiative of some citizens, but the social workers do not recognize them, and in doing so not only do they not enhance them, but sometimes even risk suffocating the existing one by proposing alternative initiatives or lowering projects from above. to the same target. A professional who wants to facilitate a community social work process should therefore first of all ask himself what the elements that distinguish him actually are and what characteristics community social work should have today to be defined as such. This contribution therefore aims to try to respond to these objectives, accompanying the social worker who wants to promote community social work processes in orienting themselves in this level of work. Following the operational indications of the Relational Social Work method, the methodological steps to be followed to facilitate a truly participatory social project will be described and some practical measures will be suggested to better guide the process.
