Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] To date the diagnosis of an alteration of the nutritional status in the adult, which can vary from a condition of malnutrition to severe obesity, is formulated on the basis of the weight and height of the subject under examination, and in particular by means of the use of body mass index (BMI). In this chapter the main techniques for measuring body composition and energy requirements will be described.
