Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The freight village system is increasingly presenting itself as a network of logistic nodes created with the aim of encouraging multimodal transport. In the interport area, various specialized operators develop forms of collaboration and integration that make it possible to manage large flows of goods.
From a network perspective, the interports facilitate both relations within the interport area, giving rise to the city of logistics, and the relations between local operators and international operators. Interports thus become the central node of the logistics network that supports the development of a local economy oriented towards sustainability.
Therefore, two interports considered as Italian and European best practices will be presented, in the light of their ability to support the development of an open logistic network.
