Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] This brief contribution will focus on the racist propaganda spread in the Third Reich between 1933 and 1945, with particular attention to the role of science and medicine in the construction of racist and anti-Semitic social, cultural and political discourses. Without any pretense of clarifying the specific mechanisms of the medical experimentation in question, an attempt will therefore be made to outline a possible historical path in the sphere of iconographic and audiovisual propaganda. In this regard, in a first part the phenomenon of euthanasia and the so-called T4 Action against the disabled and mentally ill will be analyzed starting from a specific point of view on the iconography of propaganda; this will be followed by a brief digression on anti-Jewish propaganda in Nazi Germany and on the imagery commonly used by such techniques; finally, in conclusion, the case of some racist and anti-Semitic campaigns in fascist Italy will be deepened.
