It is the Europe of civil society and its actors. After having investigated, through the study of some Italian experiences, the Europeanization as an effect of the alliances, the networks and the institutional partnerships established by the organizations (see Europe and civil society. Comparing Italian experiences, edited by G. Moro and D Pacelli), the research given here continues by making the assumption, assumed by the EU institutions themselves, that organizations and associations of civil society that are significantly oriented towards Europe would contribute to its construction by spreading a stronger awareness among its members European. " An awareness that the survey observes, examining its value orientations, the perception of its social identity, the recognition of the strategic role played by institutional Europe in some key sectors of public and private life. In this way, the volume provides a valuable empirical confirmation of the efficacy and validity of a fundamental axiom of "doing Europe" and its reading constitutes, therefore, an object of interest for the sociologist but also for those - from journalists to politicians , from teachers to information readers - they are interested in current events and in the understanding of how our society changes.
