Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] A growing number of studies have documented the negative impact of the restrictive measures to contain the contagion from COVID-19 on the psychological well-being of minors. Less investigated is the role of parental stress and the contribution of the various stressors experienced by parents on the malaise of their children. The present cross-sectional study intends to explore the link between the emotional difficulties of minors (3-17 years) and some specific sources of stress experienced by parents following the first lockdown and which of them contribute to the malaise of their children. 506 Italian parents completed an online questionnaire at the end of June 2020. The results show a significant influence of stress related to the limitation of social life and the management of family life, suggesting the importance of targeted interventions on these aspects to reduce the impact negative effects of the pandemic and promoting the well-being of the younger generation.
